I use the rangers to search map and try to get to the amount of gold needed. Monsters tend to kill me as i only have rangers, and my castle usually gets destroyed. This method i try to use some, but not all, of the gold, to make a stronger force. I tend to use knights, rogues, and rangers only. I try to do the two above quests, but always it ends with 2 failures: I can also mix it up and try for dwarves or elves, but this takes more gold as it costs gold to expand the castle.
